Information about the game is available here.

XtraMath is a free web application for students in elementary school that provides an attractive classroom management tool. It’s also a complete educational platform for mathematics. The authors consider XtraMath to be an authentic vitamin for primary school mathematics. By using it once per day, children will develop skills in the four operations of math— including plus, multiple, divide and minus. These skills allow children to build mastery in these subjects. The platform is multi-lingual and available in many countries. After selecting a language, users can view videos that present the program's features. They can also view student activities, access reports about student progress and information about how to use the Parental Monitor to guide teachers and parents. The teacher must sign up for XtraMath through a free registration. This is so all the math lessons offered by the program can be accessed. The registration guide states that teachers should enter a nonexistent class code on unused computers. Instead, they should use their teacher accounts to input data on the computers where students work. Additional applications can be purchased for additional fees. The browser version of XtraMath is available for free.

A short explanation of the game's background is included in the app.

A Seattle-based organization, XtraMath aims to provide children with a challenging and intrinsically fun auxiliary math education through their math master program. With this goal in mind, they develop challenging, adaptable and effective auxiliary math activities. Computer programmer David Yesheke knew a personalized math practice program was badly needed in late 2007. This led him to start XtraMath, which became a program for students, parents and teachers. It quickly grew popular through word of mouth and continues to develop into a useful resource. The team members of XtraMath come from the following lists: Eileen Nelson’s Adobes Photoshop, After Effects, Audition and QA work as trainees under Irene. They also appreciate Christopher Robert’s work in the Seattle School District after being elected Hero in the Classroom in 2009. Jennifer Truelac uses her national teaching degree from Seattle to help her company internationalize. Sterling Nelson is a California State University Davis alumnus with a degree in Biology. He's also a Franziskaner und Italienische Übersetzerin/Lehrer/Blogger. Er lernt neue Sprachen und schreibt über die Geschichten einer Wortart berichtet. American sport competition using frisbee, Ultimate Frisbee. Its playing and teaching time is occasionally filled by Randall Spikes, who also teaches and competes in Ultimate Frisbee. Erica Newell, a Depot University graduate with a degree in mathematics, is incredibly patient when dealing with email inquiries from school administrators and parents. Claudia Mesa, a math teacher at Portland's Kids Like Languages school, is referred to as Maestro A. Her Colombian origins are reflected in her current residence in Portland, Oregon.

Extra Math is needed for advanced math calculations. This app provides additional math functions for that purpose.

Without having to calculate each number in their head, students can use XtraMath to transition from counting and calculating to memorizing answers. This frees students' minds for more complicated calculations. Because timed math exercises allow students to answer questions in a specific amount of time, they effectively help students memorize answers. Adding to this practice effect, is the fact that the answers can be quickly memorized through repetitive practice. The three-second limit set for each exercise is long enough to enter the answer into the student's head, but not long enough to register it on their answer sheet. Students need to understand the number of counting and calculation methods they need to learn before using XtraMath. They also need to complete math problems in an unconstrained environment.

Users have accounts.

Teachers and students share the same grade data; however, its arrangement differs. School teacher accounts allow them to track the progress of many students during the academic year. They also receive weekly reports on the activities in their classes from the school. Parental accounts are focused on tracking the progress of a few children. This makes it easier to see how their children are faring over time. Additional reports that take into account the child's specific needs are included in the weekly report. Additional reports can be added to home diaper reports by teachers requesting a dual-parent/teacher account. This is a separate option during enrollment for adding a dual-parent/teacher account, and parents can also add this option later on. This allows parents to create a My Child section in their child's report that differentiates it from the school's assigned classes. You can easily change your parent or teacher account to a dual statement by checking the bottom box on the Account page.

ExtraMath practice routines are determined by the program assigned to a student. These routines determine which calculations students will practice. Some programs may include all four arithmetics, such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Other programs may limit students to specific calculations, like multiplication. Students will practice one calculation at a time until they are proficient. After that, they'll move on to the next calculation in the program. Five extra operations can be added to the addition calculation for request from some schools and school districts. These additional operations are optional; adding them defaults to Glossary entries. The program determines the threshold automatically; default, it is 3 seconds for responses that are correct. A custom program can set the threshold to 2 or 1.5 seconds instead. These custom programs require students to finish a more difficult 3-second calculation to be added to the list. Once they’ve achieved this, students can choose from additional programs that require a 6-second time limit. Upon completion of this assessment only program, teachers can determine any remaining gaps in progress. These programs allow learners to advance from one level to the next without having to take additional tests.hout waiting for students to become familiar with each calculation.
