Emile trains to understand how the controls work prior to the war. After the bombing of his beloved wife, Emile meets Walt, a German dog who had survived the rubble. Meanwhile, Karl flees with the Germans after Allied forces attack Lord Von Dorf’s camp. Freddie is an American soldier who joins the French army in order to seek revenge against Von Dorf for commanding the bombing that caused his wife to lose her eyesight. Anna, a nurse in the military, continues to meet the two. She also spies on Von Dorf and watches him capture her father so he can force him to research and manufacture weapons for him.

Before the war, Karl lived in France with his German wife Marie and son Victor. This game centers on Karl as he struggles to reunite with his family during the Lost Childs Journey. Emile was Karl's father-in-law. Because he was married to Karl's father, he had to join the French army. Emile always searched for Karl so he could help his son-in-law return home from war. However, no one knows the dog's past and it can be controlled by the player.
