I find this game to be pretty strange because it is based around a zombie theme. There are many different RPG, strategy and adventure zombie games, but no other game has been developed that focuses on the topic. This might be hard to understand because zombies don’t talk. When creating a game novel, many imagine the characters to be filled with full personalities. But this is impossible because the soulless creatures of horror don’t have any expressions or thoughts. In addition to that, movies often use zombies in their plot when depicting death, grief, loss or fighting. Therefore, it seems almost impossible to convey emotion through a game novel without also feeling sad. I believe that’s partially true in parts. So when I learned about Time Of The Dead for the first time, I had to wonder and question its existence. That's why I immediately downloaded it to my hard drive to see how they pulled it off. I spent a half day enthralled by the game without disappointing me.

The Joseon period was the colonial territory ruled by the Ming Dynasty. Before that time, Korea was an independent nation ruled by the Goryeo Dynasty. During this time, there was an outbreak of zombie activity in the country. Goryeo Korea was an agricultural nation with few people; most citizens lived on farming. From every area of the country, corpses revived and committed horrible, lingering crimes. This gave people reason to despair and caused many people to flee their homes. However, a few stubborn souls refused to give up and devised a way to destroy the cause of their affliction.

The story revolves around four main characters: Yeob, Gyeom, Bok and Ryu. Each character has a different look and personality, but the male lead always ranks first. Yeob is a wandering gypsy with a worn appearance. He rarely cleans himself because he wanders too much; although he is friendly and warm-hearted, his past is traumatic and you learn about it as you play. A happy and smart young man named Bok is one of the other guys. He only knows how to enjoy himself and is lively. Gyeom is a laid back intellectual; he lacks originality. Ryu is the exact opposite of Gyeom; he's quiet, reliable and talented. Both sought out the common goal and fate surrounding the pandemic and joined forces to fight it.

The desperate environment provides a veneer of challenge that masks the characters' difficult lives. However, this is not the whole story: people who view the situation incorrectly remain deceived. Completely surrounded and frequently challenged, the characters’ minds and bodies often deteriorated due to the publisher’s inclusion of various scenarios. I wonder if they even survived as I sometimes get the impression that they did. Playing interactive novel games doesn’t come easy to me; I spend a lot of time frustrated. The game features many other prominent characters aside from the beginning four you choose to play as. Girls related to these boys often experience confusing feelings toward them. Thanks to them, the new zombie storyline slowly unfolded with its struggle for survival. The boys' life-or-death battle finding a path to victory. You can choose to pursue love, friendship or life. Each choice leads to a different ending with a different story. Possible outcomes include a positive love story in a better world or a tragic one. Make sure not to regret anything by considering things carefully. The game now returns to its classic form as an interactive novel.

The visual art in Time Of The Dead can be considered the visual aspect of the story. The striking appearance of the main characters is immediately appealing to viewers. Each character’s unique personality is visible through their historical form. Emotional responses can be elicited from pictures of characters expressing a wide range of emotions. Images of warriors battling zombies or lovers kissing produce similar effects. Even 2-dimensional photographs can be effective.
