When you finish selecting what you want, you're taken to a blank landmass filled with environmental elements. This is where you begin creating the city you desire by learning new systems.

The beginning of TheoTown doesn’t have any buildings or other structures that can be used by the land’s residents. Instead, the land is populated only by trees. This necessitates the inclusion of specific amenities to the town’s layout and aesthetic. When building new structures, you can switch between two different modes. In one mode, you can view your land as usual and in the other mode, you can view your land through the random generation of elements. By building in cells created by this process, it makes construction easier for you. In addition to establishing basic utilities such as water and electricity, new residents need to construct solar batteries. These are vital for powering homes thanks to the first two elements required for any community. You can add underground pipes and water tanks to prepare for residents to move into your newly built cities. First inhabitants arrive in a city when it has enough resources to support them.

Any visitor to TheoTown can see a number located on the right side of the display. This indicates how much money a participant has in their possession. Additional information can be found next to this number in the form of an arrow. This indicates how much money participants lose or gain over a specific time period. This can’t be achieved if one is lazy or on a steady paycheck. The city of TheoTown needs both management and construction in order to develop. Doing either one without the other causes a lot of issues to arise inside the city. This is why I always recommend new players start out by playing in the first couple minutes of their game.

They also need to invest time in iconic constructions that make the city beautiful and memorable. Just like Big Ben and Eiffel Tower, iconic structures draw attention to the city, inspire people, and change its appearance. Life necessitates a lot of exhausting tasks.
