Aircraft powered with solar energy don’t resemble the many commercially sold ones. These planes use advanced technology to move forward with solar power; they can’t operate on diesel fuel. Running out of energy necessitated the plane using up a large amount of resources before the sun fell into its natural cycle. These complications necessitated the need to race against the sun. Control of the game is simple when playing with only one finger. Players will automatically move forward in Race the Sun's aircraft; however, players must slide their fingers to avoid obstacles placed on the vertical screen. In order to dodge obstacles, players must slide their fingers to the side of the screen.

The Race the Sun game features creative obstacles that are unusual and unique. For example, in the original version of the game, players only saw obstacles wrapped in vertical pillars or other specific shapes. However, Race the Sun adds new challenges by adding different colors and shapes to the mix. Higher levels require more challenging play. Act quickly or face dire consequences as challenges purposely move, break apart, or challenge players to another scene. All share the same objective: to distract players and quickly lose their lives if they aren’t careful. The main purpose of forging is to create a challenging experience and thrilling emotions with a short duration. Doing this helps players achieve a high score and makes them happy when they win an exhibition. When crafting airplane rules, never allow it to fall; instead, make sure to keep it in the sunlight and moving at full speed.
