Using weapons or magic to break through the distribution can help players bypass the youkai if they get too many. Or players can follow the Youkai Range to find places with few animals for them to gather. If the countdown ends and the player is full of youkai, then they must retreat. When a player fails to exit the game, the green blood around their head thins out until it vanishes. This is when a player is removed from the game, and Final Dawn continues their level if they are eliminated. Collect time cards by defeating enemies. Swap between multiple positions to gather them wherever you die. These cards feature a yellow clock in the middle that is greyed out. Make the countdown last longer by extending the marker.

Final Dawn focuses on creating powerful weapons to be used by heroes. These are essential to the game, so many were designed with neon purple and yellow edges. Swords with dragon motifs etched on them include fire-type swords. These have a middle pillar and connecting lines on each side. A short sword with two razor-sharp edges and a black handle is an option. Heavy hammers instilled fear with each swing. Including many weapon cards in your collection helps combat this effect. New heroes can be hired from the shop after collecting any fallen cards or gold coins during battle. Each hero has a skill set determined by which hero was initially opened. A hero with white hair, wearing a red cape, and armor with attractive white tones. Another hero has cold green eyes, black hair and a short sword on his back that's the size of a person. This hero has an androgynous appearance with gray clothing and armor. The blue torus wraps around his face, while his purple costume adds drama to the appearance.

After defeating a certain number of foes, cards with monster data and a skill illustration fall out of the stack. These gray cards denote that they're used up and can no longer be used for comparison purposes. If picked up, the card can be immediately used or added to a later inventory slot. Weapons with a yellow arrowhead can be added to the player's inventory. When placed in the inventory, these weapons automatically shoot out lightning bolts toward enemies. Black Hole cards launch enemies into a black vortex that they can't escape from. Final Dawn cards feature a bottom row of yellow stars. The number of yellow stars in the row indicates the overall power of the card's skills. Cards with more yellow stars have skills with greater power. Skills are rare because the density of enemies changes across each level. When a player becomes legendary, they’ll receive a ring of power that makes them harder to move around.
