Drake n Trap's main gameplay mode is Team mode. This is the mode players first access once selecting a character. However, players don't start the game with six charcters; instead, new characters are unlocked one at a time. Additionally, players shouldn't worry about the difficulty curve increasing from easy to hard— challenges gradually increase in difficulty from there on out. Characters need to be upgraded and their equipment strengthened in order to overcome the gates with enough power initially. Preparing to face increasingly difficult battles is best done with regular upgrades. The same goes for the characters once you’ve leveled up enough to be in the squad.

Drake n Trap's maps feature a wide variety of monsters thanks to the game's upgrade system. The improved monster image appears at each level. Dungeon locations use dark lighting and forced movement together. If separated, players suffer decreased effectiveness. When the game starts, you face easy-to-defeat smaller monsters on the start screen. However, once the Giant Boss appears at the end, you'll need more powerful weapons to defeat him. Their impressive power makes them an effective fighting force, with only minimal losses to their overall strength when attacked. They are also sluggish and easily tracked by the player.

As long as you arrange the characters' turns in the order you prefer, you need not fear the challenge ahead. All you have to do is press the Attack button on your computer's display. Each character will then perform their assigned action in sequence. And because every character obeys your directional input, they'll swiftly move in whichever direction you designate. Each warrior's cooldown period differs; you need to keep track of when each is ready to fight so that all are ready to fight at the same time. This helps increase the likelihood of victory. ———
